The open fire in the main sitting room gives the house a different character to most self-catering in the area. Eastern Green Beach is 1km on foot; Long Rock Beach is 2.3km.

The enclosed courtyard garden has a gas barbecue, and the house includes off-street parking, Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Penrose Terrace sits within walking distance of Penzance train station and the Scillonian ferry terminal - the main departure point for the Isles of Scilly.

The town has independent cafes and restaurants along Chapel Street, and the Egyptian House (a grade I listed Regency facade) is five minutes' walk. The Penlee House gallery and museum is less than 10 minutes on foot. Marazion Beach and St Michael's Mount are 4km east along the coastal path.

Best for groups of 6-8 who want town-centre access with more space and character than a serviced apartment - the cinema room is genuinely useful on wet evenings. Less good for families needing a large garden for young children - the courtyard is compact. No pets permitted.
