Sea Gem

Sea Gem is an architect-designed eco-home at Chapel Porth near St Agnes, sleeping 4 across 2 bedrooms within the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. Cedar cladding and a sedum roof set it apart from the typical holiday cottage - this is a considered build designed for the landscape rather than against it.

The living area is open-plan with French doors opening onto a large deck with glass balustrade and uninterrupted sea views. The king-size master bedroom has a walk-in en-suite; the second room has twin beds convertible to a super-king. A wood-burning stove and open fire make it viable year-round. Parking, wifi, and a BBQ are included. No dishwasher or washing machine.

Trevaunance Cove - the main St Agnes surf beach - is 1.5 miles. Trevellas Cove, a quieter shingle cove, is 1.7 miles. St Agnes village is a 20-minute walk across the headland via the Beacon, with galleries, a bakery, and several pubs. The Stippy Stappy - a row of terraced miners' cottages - is passed on the route down to the harbour.

Best for couples or small families who want architectural interest alongside coast and moor access. Less suited to those needing a dishwasher or central heating as the primary heat source rather than stove.
