Spindrift

Spindrift is a three-bedroom cottage set high above Praa Sands, sleeping six with a 200-metre walk down to the beach. The elevated position gives sea views across the mile-long arc of sand toward Cudden Point.

Three bedrooms sit across two bathrooms. Large windows frame the bay from the open-plan living area, and a hot tub sits on the decked terrace alongside the BBQ. Dishwasher, washing machine, wifi and parking are all included. Dogs are welcome, though note Praa Sands itself has a summer dog ban (Easter to 30 September) on the main beach - stick to the coast path and shoulder-season visits for off-lead walks.

The beach below has a surf school and is lifeguarded in summer; the Sandbar Restaurant and Sand Bar pub are on the sand. Walk west along the coast path to Cudden Point and on toward Marazion and St Michael's Mount (6 miles), or east to Porthcew (Rinsey Cove) and the Wheal Prosper engine houses inside two miles. Porthleven's harbour restaurants are 15 minutes by car, Helston 5 miles east, Penzance 8 miles west.

Best for a family or two couples wanting hot-tub evenings, sea views and an easy walk to the sand. Less good for guests with limited mobility (sloping site, steps down to the beach).
