Sue's Lodge

Sue's Lodge is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom lodge at Honicombe Manor, near Cawsand on the Rame Peninsula in southeast Cornwall. Dog-friendly and rated 9.3 by guests, it sits within a park with a shared outdoor swimming pool - a useful addition for families or groups travelling in warmer months.

Cawsand and Kingsand villages are a short drive away - twin fishing settlements with pastel-coloured cottages in largely car-free lanes facing Plymouth Sound. Three beaches serve the villages, with kayak and paddleboard hire available in summer. The coast path to Rame Head is a 2-mile walk from the village, and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park is reachable on foot along the clifftops. Plymouth is about 12 miles across the water.

Best for: families or dog owners wanting a park base on the quieter, less-visited Rame Peninsula; groups who want a shared pool without a beach-front price. Less good for: those who want to walk to a beach - the nearest sandy beaches are a drive away.
