The beach sits directly outside the door, the defining feature of this stay. Kingsand Beach, a mix of sand and shingle around the headland, is about 300 metres away, and Whitsand Bay, four miles of surf sand on the peninsula, is 3.5 miles. The car-free lanes between Cawsand and Kingsand are lined with pastel cottages and four shared pubs, and a seasonal ferry crosses to Plymouth. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, 800 acres of gardens and coastal woodland, is a walk along the coast path.
