Summer House is a 1-bedroom converted cow byre at The Homestead near Wendron, sleeping 2 with 1 bathroom. The conversion has a wood burner, and the layout runs over three levels: seven steps on a curving semi-spiral staircase lead up to the mezzanine bedroom, and steps from the living area lead down to the kitchen and shower room. Garden, parking, wifi and dishwasher are included, along with shared use of the owners' washing machine and tumble dryer. Friday changeover. No children, pets or smoking.

The property is rural in character, sitting within a working farm complex between Helston and the coast. Wendron village is a short drive for nothing in particular - this is a deep countryside position. The appeal is the building itself and the quiet.

Porthleven Beach is 3 miles away. Porthleven is a working harbour with a seasonal shingle beach and a cluster of restaurants around the harbour including some with a strong reputation for local seafood. The outer harbour wall is a spectacle in winter storms. Helford Passage Beach is 6.2 miles east.

Helston is the market town 1.9 miles east, with supermarkets and a good range of shops. The Flora Day procession on 8 May each year fills Helston's main street with dancers and brass bands - rooms around here book up months in advance for that date. The Lizard is accessible from Helston going south, with Kynance Cove and the most southerly point of mainland Britain within 30 minutes.

Ideal for a couple wanting seclusion and character, with the coast reachable by car in 15 minutes. Not suited to guests who find steps difficult, as the bedroom, living area, kitchen and shower room sit on different levels. Not great for anyone who needs to be within walking distance of restaurants or pubs.
