Teg

Teg is a single-storey studio cottage in Prospidnick, a small hamlet between Helston and Wendron in west Cornwall. The interior takes an open-plan approach: the bed, kitchenette, and dining area share one main space, with a separate shower room off to the side. One bathroom serves the two guests. The layout suits couples looking for a compact retreat rather than a formal multi-room holiday let.

Outside, a private garden provides space to sit out in good weather. WiFi is included. There is no parking space listed and no washing machine, so longer stays may require a launderette run into Helston.

Helston itself is about 2 miles south - one of Cornwall's oldest market towns, with a Waitrose, a mix of independent shops, and the Flora Dance Festival each May (one of the oldest street festivals in Britain). Porthleven, the most southerly working harbour in mainland Britain, is 6.1km away by road, with a cluster of seafood restaurants along the quayside.

The real draw from this location is access to the Lizard. The Lizard is the most southerly point in mainland Britain, and from Prospidnick you can reach Gunwalloe Church Cove, Mullion Cove, and Porthleven Beach within 20 to 30 minutes by car. Kynance Cove, with its turquoise water over serpentine rock, is about 25 minutes south.

The Helford River and its wooded creeks are accessible in the opposite direction - Frenchman's Creek and Helford village roughly 15 minutes northeast.

Good for couples who want a quiet rural base with access to west Cornwall's coast without the prices of Falmouth or St Ives. Not suited to families or anyone needing a washing machine or dedicated parking.
