Teylu

Teylu - the Cornish word for family - is a two-bedroom cottage on the Maenporth Estate, a gated resort set above a sheltered cove south of Falmouth. The property sleeps four across a double bedroom and a twin room, with two bathrooms. Its position almost directly opposite the estate leisure centre puts the 15-metre indoor pool about 50 metres from the front door.

Inside, an open-plan living space has patio doors opening onto a private paved terrace and grassed area. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the south-facing terrace catches the morning sun. Pool, hot tub, Jacuzzi, and barbecue access are all included in the booking.

The estate covers 29 acres of gardens and woodland. Facilities include tennis, pickleball, pool and table tennis, a children's play area, a sauna, and a sun terrace. Maenporth beach is ten minutes downhill, with the Cove Restaurant at the waterfront and kayak and paddleboard hire available in season. The South West Coast Path runs through Maenporth for cliff walks towards Rosemullion Head and the Helford River.

Falmouth is a short drive north - the National Maritime Museum sits on the harbour, and the ferry to St Mawes leaves from the town quay. Gyllyngvase and Swanpool beaches are both within a few miles. Best for couples or small families who want resort facilities without a large hotel. Less good for those wanting a quiet rural escape - the estate is sociable and managed.
