The Ancient Cottage

The Ancient Cottage is a four-bedroom stone cottage for eight in the Looe Valley, near Pelynt, a village on higher ground between Looe and Polperro. Two king-size rooms include one zip-and-link that can become a twin. A bunk room and a twin zip-and-link, which can become a king-size, complete the sleeping arrangement, and smart TVs are provided in the first two bedrooms.

Two bathrooms serve all eight guests across the four bedrooms. A wood burner, Wi-Fi, dishwasher and washing machine are included, with parking outside. The garden has a barbecue and accepts up to two dogs. River views and surrounding woodland shape the setting, a quieter alternative to staying in Looe itself.

East Looe Beach is 1.6 miles away. Hannafore Beach and Talland Bay are both 1.9 miles from the cottage. Looe has a working harbour, Looe Island - a Cornwall Wildlife Trust nature reserve reached by boat - and the South West Coast Path running in both directions. Pelynt itself has the 15th-century church of St Nonna and the Jubilee Inn, a 16th-century pub serving fish landed at Looe harbour.

**Best for:** a larger family or group wanting flexible beds, laundry facilities and woodland walks near Looe. **Less good for:** guests requiring more than two bathrooms, verified step-free access or private leisure facilities.
