The Beach Hut

The Beach Hut is a three-bedroom cottage in Crantock, sleeping six across three floors with an en-suite bathroom on each level. Air source heat pumps and heated bathrooms throughout are a practical feature, particularly for shoulder-season stays. Dogs are welcome and the enclosed garden has a BBQ. There is no dishwasher.

Crantock Beach is 1km downhill on foot - a wide arc of sand at the mouth of the Gannel estuary with a seasonal cafe and lifeguard cover in summer. The Gannel tidal creek separates Crantock from Newquay, making for a quieter atmosphere than the main resort while keeping Fistral Beach within 1.7km. Fistral is Newquay's primary surf beach and hosts national and international competitions each summer.

Vugga Cove is 1.7km in the other direction along the headland path. Off-road parking and Wi-Fi are included. Washing machine on site. 2 reviews so far - a newer listing. Saturday changeover.

This cottage is best for a group of six, or two or three couples, who want easy beach access in the quieter village of Crantock while keeping Newquay's restaurants and surf schools within a short drive or cycle. It suits those bringing dogs and wanting outdoor space to cook on the BBQ. Less good for those expecting a dishwasher, or anyone who needs a property on a single floor rather than spread across three levels.
