The Forge

The Forge is a single-storey 1-bedroom cottage on Treworval Farm in Mawnan Smith, sleeping 2 with 1 bathroom. The converted farm building sits in a village setting 3 miles southwest of Falmouth, with a private garden, BBQ, and an open fire for cooler evenings. Off-road parking and WiFi are included.

Inside, the single-storey layout makes movement straightforward - there are no stairs. The dishwasher is included; a washing machine is not. The open fire is a practical asset for shoulder-season stays.

Two of Cornwall's most significant gardens are within easy reach. Trebah, a 26-acre ravine garden with tree ferns and a private beach on the Helford River, is about a mile away on foot. Glendurgan, a National Trust garden with a laurel maze, is a similar distance. Helford Passage Beach and Maenporth Beach are both around 1.7 miles from the cottage. Falmouth, with Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum, is a 10-minute drive east along the coast road.

**Best for:** couples after a quiet base for walking, garden visits, and exploring the Helford River estuary; off-season stays with the open fire as a draw.

**Less good for:** guests travelling with children; anyone needing a washing machine or more than 1 bedroom.
