The Hayloft

The Hayloft is a 1-bedroom cottage at Higher Trenear Farm near Wendron, sleeping 2 with 1 bathroom. The farm setting on the rural edge between Helston and the Falmouth road gives a quieter backdrop than the town, with a garden, barbecue, and open fire for evenings in.

The cottage is compact and well-equipped for two, with WiFi, parking, dishwasher, and washing machine included. The open fire is the main atmospheric feature for cooler months. Outside, the garden and barbecue are usable in summer.

Porthleven Beach - a working harbour beach known for its powerful surf break - is roughly 9 miles south-west. The harbour itself has several well-regarded restaurants and is worth a visit even if the waves are too strong for swimming. Helston town is the nearest service centre, best known for the Flora Day Furry Dance on 8 May each year - one of the oldest surviving street customs in Britain. The Blue Anchor pub in Helston brews its own Spingo ales on site. Kynance Cove and the wider Lizard coast are within a 20-minute drive.

**Best for:** Couples wanting a quiet farm base to explore the Lizard coast and west Cornwall. The open fire and garden suit shoulder-season visits.

**Less good for:** Guests travelling with dogs - dogs are not accepted. Those wanting coastal walks directly from the door will need to drive to the beaches.
