The position suits guests who want a mid-Cornwall base rather than a coastal one. Pentewan Beach, a mile-long sandy strand with RNLI lifeguard cover, is around 3.7 miles south. Charlestown harbour, where tall ships are often moored and Poldark filming took place, is about 4.5 miles. The Eden Project is a similar distance to the north-east, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are roughly 5 miles south. Mevagissey's working harbour is a short drive.

Best for: couples touring mid-Cornwall who need EV charging, want to use a dog-friendly base for the Eden Project or Heligan, and prefer quiet countryside to a busy resort. Less good for: guests expecting to walk to a beach, or those who want a sea view.
