The Jolly Crabber

Exposed brick, a wooden beam and a feature fireplace define the open-plan ground floor, with the bedroom kept separate upstairs. The cottage has one bathroom, WiFi, a washing machine and on-site parking, plus its own garden patio. There is no dishwasher, BBQ or hot tub, so this suits a simpler self-catering break rather than a fully equipped one. Dogs are not accepted.

Porthpean Beach, a sheltered sandy cove with lifeguard cover in peak season, is 400 metres away. Charlestown, the Georgian harbour used as a Poldark filming location, is 0.9 miles from the cottage, with tall ships and waterfront pubs, and Carlyon Bay is 1.5 miles away. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are both around 5 miles away, and Porthpean's sheltered cove is the closest beach of all.
