The Linhaye

The cottage runs on one level: one double bedroom, one bathroom, open-plan living with a washing machine. Original stone walls survive from the wagon house. The enclosed garden and farmyard parking make it a practical pick for guests bringing a dog. There is no second bedroom or sofa bed, so capacity is firmly two adults.

The St Kew Inn - a 15th-century gastropub with log fires and a respected kitchen - is a mile down the lane, alongside the medieval parish church of St James the Great. Wadebridge is 4 miles south for shops and the start of the Camel Trail cycle route. Port Isaac sits 6 miles north for the working harbour and Doc Martin filming streets, with the Camel Estuary beaches at Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Rock 8 to 10 miles away.

Best for couples wanting a quiet farm base with one lazy dog and the village pub a mile down the road. Less good for families - capacity is two adults - or anyone after coast views (this is inland farm country).
