Treetops

Treetops is a refurbished one-bedroom annexe at Lanarth Park near St Kew in North Cornwall, sitting just off the A39. The single-level layout and double sofa bed in the living area make it workable as a couple-plus-child set-up rather than a strict pair-only stay.

The annexe runs on one floor with a fitted kitchen, a full-size bathroom and a bright living area. Step-free access throughout means no internal stairs. Wi-Fi runs throughout and there is a washing machine for longer stays. The single-bedroom-plus-sofa-bed setup caps practical use at two adults and one small child - it is not a family-of-four annexe.

Lanarth Park itself runs to ten acres of grounds with a shared outdoor pool (open 30 May to 10 September only - it shuts outside that window), an on-site bar and gardens to wander. The wider park has caravan pitches, so it is not a private estate. Port Isaac lies 6 miles north for the harbour and Doc Martin filming streets, with Outlaw's New Road for a serious dinner. The Camel Estuary beaches at Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Rock are 8 to 10 miles away by car, and Tintagel Castle is 10 miles north.

Best for couples or a couple with a young child wanting pool access during summer school holidays. Less good for off-season pool seekers (it shuts), or guests after a self-contained setting (the wider site is a working park).
