The Lookout Fowey

The Lookout Fowey is an elevated four-bedroom house for eight guests, overlooking the River Fowey estuary from a central position in the town. Two king-size rooms, a double and a twin are served by three bathrooms, with large bay windows framing the water view.

A raised deck and a summerhouse add outdoor space beyond the garden, useful for a full group spreading out in the evening. A gas wood burner-effect fire, Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, and up to two dogs can stay. The elevated approach and internal stairs are worth checking in advance for guests with limited mobility.

Readymoney Cove is under a mile away, sitting below St Catherine's Castle at the harbour mouth. Lantic Bay is 1.4 miles from the house and Lansallos Beach 2.5 miles. The Eden Project is a scenic drive inland, and Fowey itself has Daphne du Maurier's literary connections alongside its harbour pubs and restaurants.

Parking is in one of two public car parks within 350 metres, with charges. The first floor holds an en-suite double, a twin, a king-size with a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom, while the second king-size, with its own en-suite shower room, sits in the eaves on the second floor.

**Best for:** Larger families or groups wanting river views, a raised deck, a summerhouse and space for two dogs.

**Less good for:** EV drivers or guests who find elevated approaches and internal stairs difficult.
