The Mizzen

The Mizzen is a detached stone house in the village of Trelights, a short drive from Port Isaac. The ground floor is arranged around a living and dining room with a woodburning stove, two sofas, a Smart TV and a shelf of books, and the dining table seats six. The kitchen has an electric range cooker and a coffee maker, and a separate utility room holds the dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. A cloakroom with a basin and WC completes the floor.

Upstairs are three bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite walk-in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC, and two doubles. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The house sleeps six. Oil central heating is on, and fuel, power, a starter pack for the stove, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there is a nook under the stairs where they can settle. The rear garden is enclosed, with gravel, lawn and furniture, and a barbecue is kept in the log store. Parking is private and off-road, for two cars. The shop is 1.7 miles away and the pub 3.4 miles, so a car is useful. The house is no smoking.

The layout suits a family or two couples, and the stairs to all three bedrooms make it less good for anyone who needs to avoid them. It sits close to Port Isaac, and from Port Isaac itself Polzeath is 6.5 miles and Padstow 16 miles.
