The North Wing at Trevigue

The North Wing at Trevigue is a one-bedroom cottage for two in the north wing of the historic Trevigue farmhouse, set on the clifftop above Crackington Haven on Cornwall's north coast. The South West Coast Path runs directly past the property - High Cliff (731 feet, the highest sheer cliff in Cornwall) is a short walk north, and the section south towards Boscastle is equally dramatic.

Inside, the cottage has a wood burner in the sitting room and a BBQ for the garden. The bedroom sleeps two, with one bathroom. No dishwasher or washing machine, which suits a short break better than a full week with luggage. The farmhouse setting is working countryside rather than a village - quiet, with no road noise.

Crackington Haven's beach is walkable from the farm - a sand and shingle cove framed by folded rock strata that geology students visit from across the country. The Coombe Barton Inn serves food in the hamlet. Boscastle is about 5 miles south along the coast path, and Bude is roughly 8 miles north.

Best for a walking couple who want direct coast path access without driving to the trailhead each morning. Less suited to families with children or guests who want modern amenities such as a dishwasher or on-site parking.
