The Old Barn

The Old Barn is a 4-bedroom converted barn at Lower Bostraze near St Just, sleeping 7 across 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. It sits in the far west of Cornwall - roughly 3 miles from the Atlantic coast at Cape Cornwall and about 8 miles north of Land's End - in open countryside away from the tourist trail.

Inside, 3 bathrooms across 7 guests is a comfortable ratio that makes this practical for a larger family or two families travelling together. The open fire and BBQ cover opposite ends of the weather spectrum. Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and washing machine are included. The enclosed garden provides outdoor space without road noise. No dogs, Friday changeovers.

St Just is the most westerly town in mainland England, with a working market square, two pubs, and straightforward access to the Botallack cliff mines and the dramatic Crowns engine houses on the coast path. Priest's Cove at Cape Cornwall - a small, sheltered cove popular with snorkellers - is 2 miles away. Gwynver Beach is about 3 miles and tends to be quieter than the better-known Sennen Cove just beyond it at around 4.2 miles. Penzance has a full supermarket and train connections, around 8 miles east.

**Best for:** Larger groups (families or two couples plus) who want a quieter base in west Cornwall for coast path walking, visiting the mining heritage sites, and beach days at Sennen or Gwynver without paying St Ives prices.

**Less good for:** Those wanting sea views, a hot tub, or walkable village amenities - St Just is a 3-mile drive and the nearest beach requires transport.
