The Stable Barn

The Stable Barn is a 2-bedroom barn conversion on Strawberry Lane in Hayle, sleeping 4 with 1 bathroom. One bedroom has a king-size bed, the other has twin beds - a layout that suits both couples and families with two children. The enclosed courtyard garden is private and dog-friendly. Parking and Wi-Fi are included. Changeover is Saturday.

The cottage sits about 300m from a small lake, which attracts wildfowl and gives a quiet rural feel despite being on the edge of Hayle town. Hayle has a supermarket, a pub, and an estuary that draws wading birds at low tide including dunlin and redshank in winter.

Porthkidney Beach is 3km - a long quieter stretch of the Hayle estuary mouth running north towards the dunes. Carbis Bay is 4.8km, a sheltered sandy beach with shallower water suitable for families. Gwithian Towans is 4.9km, a broader surf beach at the base of the dunes where the Hayle River meets the sea. St Ives is about 15 minutes by car and has galleries including the Tate St Ives, a harbour, and a fishing beach.

Best suited to couples or families with up to 2 children who want a dog-friendly base within reach of both the St Ives area and the wider Hayle estuary. The twin and king-size configuration is practical for a family travelling without needing a cot. Less suited for guests who want to be within walking distance of a major surf beach, as the nearest beaches require a short drive.

The nearest pub is in Hayle town, about 10 minutes' walk from Strawberry Lane.
