The Sundial

The Sundial is a first-floor, 2-bedroom apartment in Tregorrick on the southern edge of St Austell, sleeping 4 with off-road parking for 2 cars and an EV charging point - a useful practical feature in a town without many EV-equipped holiday properties.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: one bedroom with an en-suite walk-in shower, and a main bathroom with bath and shower. Wi-Fi and parking are included. There is no dishwasher, washing machine, garden, or BBQ. The apartment does not accept dogs. Saturday changeover.

Porthpean Beach is 1.4 miles south - a south-facing sandy cove with sheltered water that works well for swimming and paddling. Charlestown Beach is 1.6 miles away, alongside the Georgian harbour where tall ships are regularly moored; the area has been used as a filming location for Poldark. Carlyon Bay, a larger sandy beach, is 1.9 miles east. The Eden Project is around 10 minutes by car from Tregorrick - two vast biome structures built inside a former china clay pit, open year-round. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 5 miles south. Wheal Martyn, the world's only china clay heritage centre, is just north of town. St Austell station connects to the mainline GWR service.

Best for: groups or small families with an EV who want a practical town base for the south coast and major attractions. Less good for: those wanting a garden or coastal setting, or dog owners.
