Trelaze

Trelaze is a 2-bedroom, single-storey cottage at Washaway near Wadebridge, sleeping 4 in 1 bathroom. Everything is on one level, and the property sits within ornamental gardens on a wooded estate called Higher Lodge.

Inside, the cottage has two bedrooms and a living area with wifi, dishwasher, and washing machine. Parking is on-site. The single-storey plan keeps everything on one level, with a conservatory off the sitting and dining area, a sun terrace and a lawned garden with furniture. The north coast is a drive of under 20 minutes: Port Gaverne Beach lies 6.6 miles north-west, while Daymer Bay at Rock is about 8.5 miles. Tregardock, one of the most remote beaches on the north coast, is 8 miles away - worth the walk if the tide is right. Camel Valley Vineyard is roughly 3 miles along the trail towards Bodmin.

Best for: couples or a small family wanting a quiet rural base with easy cycling access to Padstow and the Camel estuary. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking. Less suited to guests wanting beaches within walking distance - the coast here requires a drive.
