Two-bedroom single-storey cottage at Broad Langdon, a hamlet in the Jacobstow parish near Wainhouse Corner in north Cornwall, sleeping four. One bedroom has a zip-link twin (convertible to a king-size), the other a double. A conservatory adds extra sitting space adjoining the open-plan kitchen and living area. Outside, the enclosed garden has a patio and BBQ.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, which makes it practical for a week-long stay with two bedrooms in use. WiFi is included. Note that the property has no dedicated parking space - worth factoring in if travelling by car.

Broad Langdon sits a mile from the A39 Atlantic Highway junction at Wainhouse Corner. Bude - with its Summerleaze tidal sea pool, Crooklets surf beach, and kayaking on the Bude Canal - is 8 miles north. Wainhouse Corner has a pub and petrol station; the market town of Holsworthy, 7 miles east across the Devon border, covers supermarket shopping.

Best for small families or two couples wanting an enclosed garden and rural north Cornwall base at lower rates than the coastal villages. Less good for: anyone who needs on-site parking (not available here), dog owners (no pets), or guests expecting to walk to a beach.
