Westfields

Westfields is a single-storey, one-bedroom cottage for two near South Petherwin, outside Launceston. It has one bathroom and underfloor heating throughout, which suits a cooler-weather break as much as summer.

WiFi, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a private garden and secure parking are included. Dogs aren't accepted. The single-storey plan reduces internal stairs, but step-free access hasn't been formally verified, so guests with specific mobility needs should check before booking. Weekly changeovers take place on Saturdays.

South Petherwin itself has a pub, the Winds of Change, plus a village hall and a parish church with a tall tower built from locally quarried Polyphant stone. Launceston, with its Norman castle, weekly farmers' market and a steam railway through the Kensey Valley, is the nearest town for shops and services. Bodmin Moor lies to the south-west for moorland walks. Crackington Haven Beach and Millook Beach are both 12.2 miles away, and Widemouth Bay is 12.8 miles away, so beach days here mean a proper drive rather than a stroll.

**Best for:** a couple wanting a single-level base with underfloor heating, laundry facilities and secure parking.

**Less good for:** dog owners, guests requiring formally verified step-free access, and anyone wanting the beach within walking distance.
