10 Faraway Fields

The hot tub is the first thing to know about 10 Faraway Fields: it is sunk into the garden, next to a lawn and a decked area with patio furniture. The lodge stands on Southern Halt Park, on the edge of Dobwalls, and the park's 22 acres of grounds, with a water feature, are open to guests to walk around.

Everything is on one level. The living space is open plan, with the kitchen, dining table and sitting area in a single room, and two TVs and WiFi are provided. The kitchen has an oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and the lodge has gas central heating. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Six people sleep across three bedrooms. The king-size bedroom has its own TV and an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower, and the two twin rooms use zip-and-link beds that can be made up as doubles on request. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. A travel cot without a mattress and a highchair can be hired.

Guests need to know a few rules before booking. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am, Sunday arrivals are not permitted, barbecues must not be brought onto the site, electric vehicles cannot be charged, and pets and smoking are not allowed. That makes it best for families and groups of up to six who want a private hot tub and who are not travelling with a dog. There is off-road parking at the lodge, a shop 0.3 miles away and a pub 0.4 miles away.
