14 Faraway Fields

14 Faraway Fields stands on the side of a lake, and its wraparound decking carries a private hot tub. The cedar lodge is on the Southern Halt park in Dobwalls, sleeping six across three bedrooms, with Bodmin Moor close by and Looe, Fowey and Polperro on the South Cornish coast.

The double bedroom has a TV and an en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, with direct access to the terrace and hot tub, and two twin bedrooms complete the sleeping. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. Open-plan living covers the kitchen, a dining area with seating for six and two large leather sofas, with access to the terrace. Two TVs with Freeview and Wi-Fi are included.

The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a communal lawn as well as the private decking. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are in the rent, and a travel cot (no mattress) and highchair can be hired. Off-road parking is for 1 car, with additional parking on site. Charging an electric vehicle is not permitted.

Because of the elevated terrace over the lake and the other lakes on site, children need supervising at all times. Barbecues cannot be brought onto the site, no stag, hen or similar parties are accepted, Sunday arrivals are not permitted, and the lodge is no smoking. Pets are not allowed, although the owner occasionally brings a dog to the property. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 10am. The shop is 0.3 miles away and the pub 0.4 miles.

It suits a group of friends or a family of six who want space and a hot tub, and it is less good for households with toddlers or anyone bringing a dog.
