Its position on the edge of a small lake is what sets 12 Faraway Fields apart, a single-storey lodge for two in Dobwalls. The double bedroom has a wall-mounted TV, bedside tables and a dressing area, and the en-suite has a double-sized walk-in shower.
The open-plan living room combines a kitchen, dining table and sitting area with patio doors out to the garden, and there are two sofas and two TVs. The kitchen has an electric range, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Heating is gas central heating, WiFi is included, and so are fuel, power, bed linen and towels.
Rear decking has furniture and a hot tub, and there is a communal lawn. One well-behaved dog is welcome, kept on a lead at all times on site. Parking is off-road for one car. The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted. Barbecues cannot be brought to the site, and smoking is not allowed. A travel cot (no mattress) and highchair can be hired.
The shop is 0.4 miles away and the pub 0.5 miles. Check-in is 4pm, check-out 10am, and Sunday arrivals are not permitted. It suits a couple with one dog who want a hot tub and a quiet lakeside outlook. It is less good for anyone arriving in an electric car, since charging is not allowed.
