A lawn, furnished decking and a private hot tub surround 14 Horizon View, a single-storey lodge for four on the Southern Halt Park in Dobwalls. Views run across Bodmin Moor, and Looe, Polperro and Fowey are on the South Cornish coast.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The decking is not dog safe, so guests must stay with their dog when it is on it, and pets must be kept on a lead everywhere on site. The double bedroom has a TV and an en-suite with a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC, and the twin bedroom shares the family bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over.
The open-plan living space brings the kitchen, dining area and sitting area together, with a Freeview TV, a second TV and Wi-Fi. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and the heating is electric and central. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included. A travel cot (no mattress) and highchair can be hired, and parking is off-road for 2 cars. Electric vehicle charging is available at an extra cost.
A lake is on site, so children must be supervised at all times. Barbecues cannot be brought onto the site, Sunday arrivals are not permitted, and the lodge is no smoking. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. The shop is 0.3 miles away and the pub 0.4 miles.
It suits a family or two couples with a dog or two, and is less good for very young children given the lake and the decking.
