17 Meadow Retreat

Two dogs are welcome at 17 Meadow Retreat, a single-storey lodge on a lakeside holiday site in Dobwalls, provided they stay on a lead everywhere on the site. It sleeps four. One bedroom has a king-size bed that can be set up as twins on request, with a TV, and the other is a twin. The one bathroom has a bath, a shower over it, a heated towel rail and a WC.

The open-plan space combines a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting room with an electric fire. The kitchen has an oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge and a toaster. There are two TVs and WiFi, the heating is central, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Enclosed decking at the front has furniture for meals outside, and an EV charger is available at an extra cost.

Steps lead up to the lodge. The site has lakes and open water, so children must be accompanied at all times, and barbecues are not to be brought on site. Sunday arrivals are not permitted, check-in is 4pm and check-out 10am, and smoking is not allowed. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 0.6 miles.

The lodge is best for two friends or a couple with dogs, or a small family, and is less good for anyone who wants a private bathroom off each bedroom.
