4 Stonerush Valley

4 Stonerush Valley is a lodge for two in a wooded valley at Stonerush Lakes, near Lanreath. It is all on one level, with two external steps up to the door. The open-plan living area has a kitchen, a dining area and a living room, with direct access to the terrace, and two 32-inch Freeview TVs and a DVD player.

The single bedroom has a four poster king-size bed, and the bathroom has a freestanding bath and an en-suite shower. Bed linen, towels, two bathrobes and travel-size toiletries are provided, and fuel and power are included. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. There is no WiFi in the lodge; it is available in the Old Mill Bar & Restaurant.

The decked area is enclosed and gated, with furniture and a private hot tub. The Old Mill Bar & Restaurant is a five-minute walk away, and the nearest shop is 4 miles off. One well-behaved dog is welcome and must be kept on a lead on site. Children must be supervised at all times because of the lakes and open water, barbecues may not be brought, and electric vehicles cannot be charged. Parking is off-road for one car, arrivals cannot be on a Sunday, and a good housekeeping bond applies.

The lodge suits a couple or a solo traveller with a dog. It is less good for families with young children, given the open water on site and only one bedroom.
