6 Lake View

6 Lake View is a contemporary lodge for two on a 28-acre site of woodland and lakes called Stonerush Lakes, near Lanreath and within reach of Looe and Polperro. Everything is on the ground floor, with one step up to the door and a gentle slope down to the lodge. Off-road parking is for one car, on a sloped drive beside it.

The open-plan living area combines a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area, with a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and two TVs. The double bedroom has its own TV, a freestanding bath and an en-suite shower. Bed linen, towels, two bathrobes and travel-size toiletries are included, and fuel and power are covered by the rent.

Outside, the decked terrace is enclosed and gated, with a table, chairs and a private hot tub. The site's restaurant and pub is a five-minute walk away, while the nearest shop is 4 miles off. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome but must stay on a lead on site. Children must be supervised at all times because of the lakes and open water. Barbecues may not be brought, electric vehicles cannot be charged, arrivals cannot be on a Sunday, and a good housekeeping bond applies.

The lodge suits a couple wanting a private hot tub. It is less good for families with small children, given the open water on site and a single double bedroom.
