The Hideout

The Hideout is a one-bedroom lodge in the Stonerush Lakes estate at Lanreath, near Looe and Polperro. It sleeps two and was fully renovated in May 2026. The super-king bedroom is served by a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Its best feature is a covered outdoor copper spa bath, reached from the shower room. Beyond that, a cinema room has a large screen and reclining chairs. The open-plan living area combines the kitchen, dining and sitting areas, and the kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, fridge freezer, gas hob, electric oven and microwave. WiFi, a Bluetooth music system and a smart TV are included, along with gas central heating.

A private, enclosed and gated decked terrace has patio furniture. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Parking is off-road for one car, with electric car charging, and the lodge is smoke-free. It is reached by steps, Sunday arrivals are not permitted, barbecues cannot be brought to the site, and check-in is at 4pm with check-out at 10am. There is a lake on the estate, so children must be supervised at all times. Bathrobes, towels and toiletries are provided, and a cot and highchair are available. The estate has its own pub and restaurant, while the nearest shop is 3.4 miles away.

The lodge is described as adult-focused and suits couples wanting privacy and a dog for company; with a single bedroom it is less good for anyone travelling with children.
