7 Meadow Retreat

Patio doors and large windows fill the living room at 7 Meadow Retreat, a single-storey lodge on the outskirts of Dobwalls, sleeping four. Bodmin Moor is nearby, and Looe, Polperro and Fowey are on the South Cornish coast.

The king-size bedroom comes with a dressing room and an en-suite shower room, which has a walk-in shower, basin and WC. The second bedroom is a twin, and the family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. The open-plan space combines the kitchen, dining area and sitting area, and the kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a TV and Wi-Fi.

Outside is a non-enclosed decked area with a hot tub and furniture. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included, and a travel cot (no mattress) and a highchair can be hired. Off-road parking is for two cars. In Dobwalls itself, the village has a shop and The Highwayman pub, 0.5 miles away, and Liskeard offers more.

There are steps to the exterior, and the decked area is not enclosed. Barbecues cannot be brought onto the site, Sunday arrivals are not permitted, and the lodge is no smoking. Pets are not allowed. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.

It suits two couples or a small family wanting a hot tub, and it is less good for anyone with a dog or with difficulty on steps.
