Watergate Bay is 2.1 miles south, where the surf school and the Hotel & Extreme Academy operate. The village has a pub, beach cafe, garage, and a small grocery store all within a 5-minute walk. Newquay is 6 miles south, Padstow 8 miles north-east.

Best for: families or groups with a dog wanting immediate beach access and a manageable North Cornwall base. Less good for: guests expecting a town or village centre on the doorstep, or those needing more than 2 bathrooms for 6 people.
