Breakwater Cottage

Breakwater Cottage is an early 19th-century character cottage in Bude, positioned roughly 100 yards from Summerleaze Beach. The main house sleeps six, with a detached annexe adding space for four more - ten guests total across five bedrooms. Parking is available on site.

The first-floor sitting room has views over the coast. Period features run through the property, and the layout provides separate living areas in the main cottage and annexe - useful for larger groups wanting a degree of independence. Outside space wraps around the building.

Summerleaze Beach, just 200 metres away, has a tidal sea pool that works well for calmer swimming when the Atlantic swell picks up. Crooklets Beach - Bude's main surf break - is 800 metres north along the coast path. The South West Coast Path passes right through town and extends over 30 miles in both directions.

Bude itself sits where the River Neet meets the Atlantic. The 19th-century Bude Canal runs inland from the harbour and is used for kayaking and flat-water swimming. The Falcon Hotel and The Brendon Arms are a short walk for pub food, and the town centre has a range of shops and restaurants across the bridge. Widemouth Bay, another popular surf beach, is roughly a five-minute drive south.
