Carlyon Bay, a long sandy beach with kayaking and paddleboarding, is 1.1 miles away. Charlestown Beach, beside the Georgian harbour used as a Poldark filming location, is the same distance.

St Austell is Cornwall's largest town, with the Eden Project 2 miles north-east and the Lost Gardens of Heligan about 5 miles south. Charlestown's harbour with its tall ships is 2 miles from the town centre.

Best for a family with a baby, thanks to the ground-floor nursery, cot and downstairs bedroom. Less good for parents of an unsupervised toddler - the staircase to the first floor has open treads.
