Chy Rani

Chy Rani is a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom cottage in Portmellon, sitting within Sea View Cottages on the cove at the southern end of the village, sleeping 2. Sea views are genuine here - the windows face the bay, and the beach is roughly 100 metres away on foot. A pub is at the same distance. Dogs are welcome, and the cottage has a garden, dishwasher, and washing machine. Note there is no on-site parking - street access to Portmellon can be limited in peak summer weeks, so guests arriving by car should check current arrangements.

Mevagissey harbour is reachable on foot via Chapel Point in under 15 minutes - the route goes around the headland and into the inner harbour, which still operates as a working fishing dock. Fish and chips, ice cream, and boat trips to Fowey are all available from the quayside. The coast path south of Portmellon heads towards Gorran Haven, 2.5km away, passing along open clifftops above the cove.

Pentewan Beach is 3km north, a long sandy stretch with a campsite and beach shop behind it. Hemmick Beach, a quieter NT cove accessible by a steep lane, lies 4.2km south. The Eden Project is roughly 10 miles inland for a day out in bad weather.

This cottage suits couples or solo travellers who want a small cove location with immediate beach and pub access, and who don't need to park at the door. Good for those happy to leave the car and explore on foot or the coastal path. Not great for guests who need a car on standby daily - the access situation is a known limitation. Saturday changeover.
