Drum Fish

Drum Fish is a reverse-level beach house in Polzeath on the north Cornwall coast, sleeping 6 across 3 king-size bedrooms on the ground floor. The open-plan living and kitchen space sits upstairs, designed to make the most of sea views through large windows. Driftwood floorboards, white shutters, and nautical accents give the interiors a coastal character.

The first-floor balcony has outdoor seating and a charcoal BBQ, and a wood burner keeps the lounge warm on cooler evenings. At ground level, a heated outdoor shower with a dedicated wetsuit rack serves the surf-focused guests this property attracts. Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking for 2 cars are all included. Dogs are not accepted.

Polzeath Beach is 400 metres from the front door - a half-mile north-facing surf beach with RNLI lifeguards in summer and left- and right-hand breaks for all abilities. Several surf schools operate from the beach between Easter and October. Greenaway Beach is under a mile further along the coast path, and Daymer Bay - calmer and suited to paddleboards and kayaks - is 1.4 miles away across the Camel Estuary side. Padstow is accessible by water taxi from Rock, about 2 miles south.

**Best for:** surf families and groups of 6 wanting a ready-to-go beach house with proper outdoor space and dog-friendly access to one of Cornwall's best surf beaches. **Less good for:** guests needing more than 6 beds, or those seeking a quieter location outside the peak summer village atmosphere.
