Edwardian harbour house, Mevagissey

Set above the harbour in Mevagissey, this Edwardian house has sweeping sea and harbour views and room for eight. There are four bedrooms: three king-size rooms upstairs, two of them with en-suite walk-in showers, and a twin on the ground floor. With a family bathroom that has a bath and shower over, there are three bathrooms, plus a separate cloakroom.

The kitchen/diner is the social centre, and a separate sitting room gives a second place to sit. The kitchen has an induction hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and coffee maker. There are two Smart TVs and WiFi, plus a cot and highchair on request. Heating, power, bed linen and towels are included.

The multi-level terraced garden has patio furniture and a barbecue. Off-road parking takes four cars. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, with a charge per dog per stay payable to the owner in advance. Smoking is not allowed. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 10am.

A shop and pub are 0.3 miles away. Mevagissey's harbour and its aquarium are close, the Eden Project is 11 miles off, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan lie just up the road. The Roseland is a short drive down the coast.

The house suits two families or a multi-generational group of eight, and the ground-floor twin keeps one bedroom off the stairs.
