Glanville House

Glanville House is a four-bedroom harbourfront property in Mevagissey, sleeping eight across three floors. The house sits directly above the village's working double harbour, where fishing boats still land their catch on the quay below.

The ground floor has a cloakroom and leads up 9 steps from the rear entrance beside the harbour. On the first floor, two twin bedrooms (both with TVs) share a bathroom with a freestanding bath. The second floor has a king-size double and a standard double, each with a TV, plus a shower room. The kitchen and dining area include an electric Neff oven and 5-ring hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a TV with Freeview.

Unloading is possible at the rear of the house alongside the harbour, but luggage must be carried up the path. The nearest car park (Willow) is about 0.3 miles away, roughly a 7-minute walk. An open fire and central heating keep the house warm.

Pentewan Beach - nearly a mile of golden sand with summer lifeguards and kayak hire - is 1.4 miles north along the coast. Gorran Haven Beach, a calm crescent of sand in a small fishing village, is 2.1 miles south. Mevagissey itself has car-free lanes, traditional pubs including the Ship Inn and Crown Inn, and fresh seafood from the harbour. A summer ferry service connects to Fowey.

Best for a group of up to eight who don't mind stairs, since the house spans three floors with steps up from the harbourside entrance. Less suited to guests travelling with a dog, as dogs are not accepted here.
