Penare House

Penare House is a 5-bedroom multi-level house on School Hill in Mevagissey, sleeping 9 across 3 bathrooms. The house spreads across three levels, with a shower room and WC on the ground floor, the bedrooms on the first and second floors and an entertainment room at the top.

Two fireplaces give the house warmth in shoulder and winter seasons: a wood burner in one reception room and an open fire in another. A games room and BBQ add options for evenings in. Wifi, dishwasher, and washing machine are included. Four well-behaved pets are welcome. Parking for two cars is included, and changeover day is Friday, with check-in from 4:00 pm and check-out by 10:00 am. The house has a four-poster bed, and a cot and a highchair are available.

A beach is a 5-minute walk from the house, and the pub and shop are a 15-minute walk. Pentewan Beach is down the hill from the village, a short drive or a walk along a country lane. Gorran Haven beach is 2.4 miles south, and Hemmick Beach is 3.3 miles away. Mevagissey harbour is within easy walking distance for the working fishing fleet and a cluster of seafood restaurants. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 1.2 miles north-west and are open year-round.

Best for larger groups or multi-generational families wanting a base in a working fishing village with beach and garden access. Less good for anyone who needs to be within metres of the sand, or who needs step-free access and would want to check with the owner before booking.
