Pirate's Pad is a 4-bedroom Victorian cottage on Church Street in Mevagissey, sleeping 8 across three floors with 2 bathrooms. The ground floor holds the living and dining room, the kitchen and a WC, with stairs up to the first-floor bedrooms and a stairwell with restricted head height to the top floor. A woodburning stove in the sitting room keeps things warm through shoulder seasons, and the enclosed rear garden gives children and dogs space to run.

Mevagissey is a working fishing harbour - the inner harbour still lands pilchards and mackerel, and the boatyard operates year-round. The village has a handful of pubs, a small aquarium, and the Mevagissey Folk Museum. Pentewan Beach is 1.3 miles north by road and Gorran Haven is 2.1 miles south - both are sandy and family-appropriate. Hemmick Beach at 3 miles is smaller and less visited, accessible via a cliff path.

The cottage includes Wi-Fi and a dishwasher. Long-stay parking for one car is in Willow Car Park, 300 metres from the house. One well-behaved dog is welcome, at extra cost.

Best for: families or two couples wanting a base in a working fishing village with beach access on both sides. The 3-floor layout means children can be separated from adults - good for groups that want space across several floors. Less good for guests who want coastal walks from the door, as most beaches require a short drive.
