First Light

First Light is a four-bedroom cottage on Rock Road in Rock, elevated enough that its upside-down layout puts the main living space and a roof terrace on the upper floor to make the most of views across farmland to the Camel Estuary. It sleeps eight.

Two king-size bedrooms and two twins share three bathrooms. Upstairs, the open-plan cooking, dining and living space has a marble breakfast bar that doubles as a cocktail bar, with a second living room and a separate snug giving a larger group room to split up. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, but dogs are not accepted.

Outside, the roof terrace is set up for eating in the open air, and there is a garden, a barbecue and private parking for three cars, useful for a group arriving in more than one vehicle. Porthilly Cove and Rock Beach are both close by. Daymer Bay Beach is 1.2 miles away, Greenaway Beach is 1.7 miles and Polzeath Beach 2.2 miles, the last with a reliable surf break for all abilities.
