Golva

Golva takes its name from the Cornish word for lookout, and the bay windows of its first-floor sitting area look out over Carbis Bay from the cliffs, all the way to Godrevy Lighthouse. The owners supply binoculars. The apartment is part of Compass Point, on the seaward side of the village.

The king-size bedroom has a TV and an en-suite shower room with basin and WC, and it shares the view of the sitting area. The twin room at the rear has a Juliet balcony and is a quiet room, and the family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. The kitchen sits at the back with NEFF appliances, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The smart TV carries the full Sky package with sports and movies; the owner cannot give out the Sky box PIN, so daytime viewing may be restricted. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included, and there is WiFi.

Access is down one level by 22 steps. There is off-road parking for one car, and a communal terrace on the seaward side has furniture. The beach is 0.3 miles away, the pub 0.5 miles and the shop 0.8 miles. The South West Coast Path and the railway to St Ives are close. Charging e-bikes, scooters or other lithium-powered devices is not permitted, nor is running extension leads out to charge electric vehicles, and drones may not be flown over the complex.

Children must be over 6. The apartment suits a couple or a family with older children, and it is less good for toddlers, because of the age limit and the steps. No pets and no smoking. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out by 10am.
