The farm setting gives direct access to open Cornish countryside - the kind of place where you can see what you are eating before it reaches the plate. Plaidy Beach is 7.2km south and East Looe Beach is 7.5km, both reached via the B3254 through the Looe Valley. The Looe Valley Line railway runs from Liskeard through the wooded valley to Looe, taking about 30 minutes and avoiding the narrow roads.

Duloe village has a well-preserved stone circle of large quartz boulders, one of the smallest but most intact in Cornwall. Liskeard is 3 miles north with a market, supermarkets, and a mainline station on the London Paddington route. Looe's fish quay, Blue Flag beaches, and seafront cafes are about 4 miles south.

East Looe Beach at 7.5km is the practical beach target for the week - sandy at low tide, busy in summer, with beach hut hire and a traditional seaside atmosphere. Works for a couple wanting a farm-stay feel with beaches accessible by car. Not a good fit for anyone prioritising beach proximity, amenities, or walking distance to anything. Friday changeover.
