The Looe Valley Line - a single-track branch railway that runs through woodland between Liskeard and Looe - passes near St Keyne, where the halt is within reasonable walking distance.

Looe's beaches are the practical coast option. East Looe Beach is 4.7 miles, a tidal estuary strand backed by the town's independent shops and fish restaurants. Plaidy Beach is 4.5 miles, a smaller and less busy cove on the eastern edge of the Looe peninsula. Hannafore Beach, facing west across the bay to Looe Island, is 5.1 miles.
