High Perch

High Perch is a four-bedroom house for eight above the streets of Port Isaac, the fishing village known as the filming location for Doc Martin. Two king-size rooms and two twins divide the group evenly across three bathrooms, which still means some sharing among eight guests.

The house looks across the harbour and sea. A tiered garden and sun deck provide outdoor space, with a barbecue for meals outside, and a wood burner is included indoors alongside WiFi, a dishwasher and washing machine. The two twins are on the ground floor and the two king-size rooms, both en suite, take the first floor. Parking on hard standing by the house has space for three cars, and one dog can stay, though step-free access is not confirmed.

Port Gaverne Beach, a sheltered cove about 10 minutes on foot from the village, is 400 metres from the house. Tregardock Beach, reached by a steep clifftop path, is 3.4 miles away, and Polzeath Beach, a half-mile surf beach, is 4.2 miles from the house. Port Isaac's harbour, restaurants and coast path walks sit within the village itself.

**Best for:** Eight guests wanting four evenly divided bedrooms, harbour and sea views, a sun deck and Port Gaverne Beach within walking distance.

**Less good for:** Guests needing a bathroom for every bedroom or step-free access.
