Honeycombe Lodge

Honeycombe Lodge is one of the reverse-level lodges at the Tamar Valley Resort, close to Callington in south-east Cornwall. The bedrooms are on the lower floor and the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area is upstairs, opening onto a balcony with seating.

There are three bedrooms: a double with its own en-suite (bath, shower over, double basin and WC), and two twins, the second of which suits children. A separate shower room has a walk-in shower. The lodge sleeps six. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, and there is a Smart TV, DVD player, children's books and games, and WiFi. Electric heating, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all covered. A cot and highchair can be requested when booking.

Guests can use the resort's indoor and outdoor heated pools, a mini gym and the tennis courts. The outdoor pool is open from mid-May to mid-September, weather permitting, the tennis courts from Easter until October half term, and seasonal opening times apply to the other facilities. The pools and gym run on a booking system arranged at reception once you arrive. Under-18s cannot use the gym, and children under 16 must be accompanied in the pool.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome free of charge, though breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are not permitted. There is off-road parking for one car, and smoking is not allowed. Bookings for work purposes are not accepted and the park does not allow workers or contractors to stay. The on-site shop and pub are 0.1 miles away; the supermarket is 2.3 miles.

It suits families with children who want facilities on the doorstep, and it is best for groups of up to six; the single parking space makes it less good for two-car parties. The lodge has a private water supply, which is tested regularly.
