The free Heartlands heritage centre at Pool, set on a former copper mine in the UNESCO Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, sits between Camborne and Redruth.

Best for two couples or a small family wanting a no-surprise utilities cost and rail access without paying coastal prices. Less good for guests wanting outdoor space, a sea view, or to walk to a beach from the door.
